          Volunteer Opportunities

          Picture
If you are parent of a child in Scouting, or someone who is totally new to Scouting, we have a volunteer opportunity for you.

One of the common misconceptions about Scouting is that Groups are closing down due to a lack of young people.  This is not the case. Scouting in the UK is a growing Movement and there are thousands of young people on national waiting lists simply because we do not have enough adults to help out.

At the 9th Lewisham North we have a number of opportunities for adult involvement.  Some roles can involve working directly with young people, other roles could involve helping with admin, looking after the equipment, keeping the minibus on the road, fundraising etc. .

There are many reasons why adults choose to volunteer for Scouting.  You might want to give something back to your local community, want to spend extra quality time with your child, or to develop your own skills.  As well as the practical skill that you will gain by taking part in activities, the Scout Association also has a detailed training program which you might wish to take part in.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the contact form below.  One of our leaders will then make contact with you to discuss how we can work together.  Go on, why not give Scouting a try - Many adults have found that through scouting they have rediscovered adventure for themselves.
